Troubled Pixar feature film The Good Dinosaur just suffered another shake-up- an almost complete change-up in the voice cast. The film, which was originally set for a December 2013 release, has suffered setback after setback, from release dates to story to even having the director replaced. Now, only one of the original cast remains.

The original cast that has bee replaced include John Lithgow as Poppa, Neil Patrick Harris as Cliff, Lucas Neff who voiced Arlo, Judy Greer who played Ivy, and Bill Hader who voiced Forrest. Arlo and Poppa remain in the cast, now being played by Raymond Ochoa and Jeffrey Wright respectively.

The other characters seem to have been dropped, with new characters and actors announced. Look for Jack Bright as Spot (the human pet of Arlo), Steve Zahn as Thunderclap (a pterodactyl) and Marcus Scribner Buck (Arlo’s brother). Also added to the cast are Anna Paquin (Ramsey), A.J. Buckley (Nash) and Sam Elliott (Butch), three T-Rexes in this prehistoric world.

The only hold-over from the old cast is Francis McDormand, who plays Arlo’s mother.

By way of explanation, director Peter Sohn only added a mysterious mention in a press release.

We were lucky to work with a number of incredible pros along the way and our story ultimately led us to this amazing and talented group. We’re all taking this journey with Arlo, and it’s been a privilege to see these performers bring our characters to life.

When Sohn was brought in as director last November, it was thought that both John Lithgow and Frances McDormand both revoiced their parts for the new version of the film.

Look for The Good Dinosaur to appear in theaters this Thanksgiving season, on November 25, 2015, making it the second Pixar film this year. This is the first time Pixar has released two features in a single year.
