French César Nominations Announced
France’s national film awards- the Césars- have been announced. With two animation categories, it is not unlike the Academy Awards, except the entrants are limited to French films. The ceremony will take place in Paris on February 26 at the Théâtre du Châtelet.
In the feature animated film category, three films were nominated.
Naia Production’s Adama is the story of a 12 year-old boy who lives in a remote village in West Africa. The second nominee is Onyx Films’ Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince), a retelling to the classic tale by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Finally we have the steampunk film from StudioCanal titled Avril et le Monde, Truqué (April and the Twisted World). The story is based on an original story bu the art director of the film.
There are four shorts in the running for the award. The first is La Nuit Américaine D’Angélique, directed by Joris Clerté and Pierre-Emmanuel Lyet.The second short nominated is from Sacrebleu Productions, and is titled Le Repas Dominical (Sunday Lunch). The third short nominated is Sous Tes Doigts, from Vivement Lundi. The final nominated short is Tigre A La Queue Leu Leu.
