DreamWorks Animation has added two hot names to the voice cast of next year’s Home. Look for comedian Steve Martin to take on Captain Smek, the leader of the alien race known as Boov. Jennifer Lopez is also moving Home, playing the teenage girl Tip’s mother. Lopez and Martin join the existing cast of “The Big Bang Theory” star Jim Parsons as the alien Oh and singer Rihanna as Tip, the teenage girl.

Home– originally titled Happy Smekday!– tells the story of an alien race that invades Earth and uses it as a hideout from their mortal enemy. This an overly optimistic species convinced they’re doing humans a big favor by relocating them. When one lowly alien accidentally notifies the enemies of his whereabouts, he is forced to go on the run with a teenage girl. The two become unlikely buddies and embark on a comical globe-trotting adventure to right his wrongs, in which our alien hero learns what it really means to be human.

This film reunites Lopez with Tim Johnson, the director of her first animated venture and also a DreamWorks animated film- Antz. Home will be the third of three feature-length animated films released by DreamWorks next year. Also look for Me and My Shadow and sequel How to Train Your Dragon 2. DreamWorks will hit three films this year, too, with the already released The Croods and Turbo, and November’s Mr. Peabody & Sherman.
