California-based hip-hopper Nathaniel Hale, best known on stage as Nate Dogg, died Tuesday night due to complications from multiple strokes, his attorney, Mark Geragos, said. He was 41.
Hale had suffered from strokes in 2007 and 2008.
As part of the trio Houston, he — along with Bobby Sandimanie, Jr. and Steve Prudholme — performed “I Like That,” heard on the soundtrack of the 2005 Fox animated feature film Robots.
He guested as himself in The Story Of Thugnificent, a 2007 episode of The Boondocks.
