Disney fairy tale “Tangled” was named Best Animation on Wednesday night at Britain’s National Movie Awards, which are chosen by members of the public.
Tangled was presented with the award by British Formula One racing driver Lewis Hamilton, who will voice a racecar named — wait for it — Lewis Hamilton in next month’s Pixar-Disney sequel Cars 2.
In the Animation category, Tangled won out over rivals Despicable Me, Gnomeo & Juliet and Megamind.
Historical drama The King’s Speech dominated the awards ceremony, winning three major honors. It won the Best Drama prize and Performance Of The Year for Colin Firth, who starred as King George VI. In addition, it received the Special Recognition prize for an outstanding movie performance.
The awards ceremony took place at London’s Wembley Arena.
