Tangled” tune by Menken and Slater gets a Grammy

A song from the Dis­ney movie “Tan­gled” received one of those mini-phonographs Sun­day night at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, held at Sta­ples Cen­ter in Los Angeles.

I See The Light” (from Tan­gled) won for Best Song Writ­ten For Visual Media. Alan Menken and Glenn Slater were the song­writ­ers for “I See The Light,” per­formed by Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi.

Other nom­i­nees in the cat­e­gory included “So Long” (from Win­nie The Pooh) and “Christ­mas­time Is Killing Us,” from the TV series Fam­ily Guy.

For Best Com­pi­la­tion Sound­track For Visual Media, Tan­gled (Var­i­ous Artists; Walt Dis­ney Records) lost to Board­walk Empire: Vol­ume 1 (Var­i­ous Artists; Elektra).
