Robichaux, Susser to rewrite live “Jetsons” movie

The Jet­sons

The duo of Van Robichaux and Evan Susser has been hired by Warner Bros. to rewrite its live-action movie ver­sion of Hanna-Barbera Stu­dios series The Jet­sons.

In 1990, Uni­ver­sal released a big-screen car­toon fea­ture film, Jet­sons: The Movie. It was directed by Hanna-Barbera co-founder Joseph Bar­bera, one of the cre­ators of the orig­i­nal 1962 TV show.

Don­ald De Line and Denise Di Novi are pro­duc­ing the live-action ver­sion, which Di Novi has been work­ing on for over than a decade with a num­ber of dif­fer­ent writ­ers. Adam F. Gold­berg has been the most recent screenwriter.

Robichaux and Susser co-created the TV series What’s Going On? with Mike Mitchell. Recently, the two received con­sid­er­able atten­tion for their script Chewie, a humor­ous look at the mak­ing of Star Wars from the point of view of Chew­bacca actor Peter Mayhew.
