Rob Edwards hired to script “Animated American”

Best known for writ­ing Disney’s 2009 ani­mated fea­ture film The Princess And The Frog, Rob Edwards has been hired to write the Mouse House’s Ani­mated Amer­i­can.

To be pro­duced by Robert Zemeckis and Bob Cooper, Ani­mated Amer­i­can focuses on an ani­mated baby raised by a live-action fam­ily until his 18th birth­day. Then, aided by his friend and her jeal­ous boyfriend, the char­ac­ter decides to find his “real” car­toon family.

No start date has been announced.
