A Child’s Gar­den of Poetry

HBO’s ani­mated spe­cial A Child’s Gar­den of Poetry is set to air tonight on HBO Fam­ily at 7:30pm. Con­tem­pla­tive, inspir­ing, and full of heart, ‘A Child’s Gar­den of Poetry’ will trans­port you and your child and plant seeds for a life­long love of words.

The spe­cial includes poems read by award-winning per­form­ers Claire Danes, Car­rie Fisher, Josh Hamil­ton, Philip Sey­mour Hoff­man, Ziggy Mar­ley, Dave Matthews, Natalie Mer­chant, Julianne Moore, Liam Nee­son, and Jef­frey Wright, as well as record­ings by renowned poets E. E. Cum­mings, Edna St. Vin­cent Mil­lay, and Carl Sand­burg. It also fea­tures chil­dren recit­ing their favorite poems and speak­ing from the heart about what poetry means to them.

Fea­tur­ing works by the fol­low­ing poets: Li Bai, Mat­suo Basho, Robert Frost, E. E. Cum­mings, Emily Dick­in­son, Mary Ann Hober­man, Langston Hughes, Edward Lear, Claude McKay, Edna St. Vin­cent Mil­lay, Carl Sand­burg, William Shake­speare, Robert Louis Steven­son, William Wordsworth and William But­ler Yeats.
