Oscar-nominated British actress Helena Bon­ham Carter, the voice of Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride, was named a Com­man­ders of the Order of the British Empire on Sat­ur­day for ser­vices to drama.

She received the dis­tinc­tion as part of the New Year Hon­ours List 2012.

Bon­ham Carter, 45, voiced Lady Cam­pan­ula Tot­ting­ton in 2005’s Wal­lace & Gromit: The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit. In the Oscar-nominated Christ­mas spe­cial The Gruffalo (2009), she was Mother Squirrel.

Burton’s motion-capture Alice In Won­der­land cast her as The Red Queen.

In Car­ni­vale, a 2000 ani­mated fea­ture film, she had the lead role as Milly.
