Fox Animation Takes Home The Emmys

emmy-awardTaking a look at the winners for this year’s Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards shows Fox as a big winner with Bob’s Burgers and The Simpsons voice actor Harry Shearer each won their first Emmy Award. Paul Rudish new take on Mickey Mose also fared well, with the all-Italian ‘O Sole Minnie pulled in two Emmys, for Best Short Format Animated Program and to Narina Sokolova for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation, Background Designer, and a second episode pulling in an Emmy also for Background Design.

Second Book Of Life Trailer

book_life2Back in June, we raved about the first trailer for Fox’s The Book of Life. Originally developed at DreamWorks, the film moved over to 20th Century and ReelFX in 2012. The film will release to theaters on October 17, 2014. The film is directed by Jorge Gutierrez, with Guillermo del Toro producing. And now we have a new trailer for the film. And while this one is a little more down-to-earth than the first trailer, it has done nothing to keep us from looking forward to seeing this film.

DreamWorks Penguins of Madagascar Has New Trailer

penguins-1DreamWorks’ spin-off feature film The Penguins of Madagascar has a new trailer online. The film will be in theaters November 26, and is directed by Simon Smith. It features the voices of Tom McGrath, Chris Miller, Benedict Cumberbatch, Christopher Knights, Ken Jeong, Annet Mahendru, Peter Stormare and John Malkovich.

Warner Bros. Announces Film Dates

warner_bros-1On the heels of Warner Bros. hit The Lego Movie, the studio has staking out the release date for two new animated features for Memorial Day weekends in 2017 and 2018. While the studio fell short of tying titles in to the announced dates- and with a variety of films in the pipeline- neither is probably the Lego Movie sequel announce the week the first movie released.

This weekly online series that follows the adventures of Olly Timbers and Ansi Molina, two ten-year-old boys exploring the crazy, unpredictable world of their New York City apartment building, The Wayne. Welcome to the Wayne is the first of four original, short-form digital-only series rolling out on the newly redesigned Nick.com website and the Nick App this year, with more in development.

To be titled , Iron Mike, his pigeon, the Ghost of the Marquess of Queensbury and Mike’s adopted Korean daughter team up to form the Mike Tyson Mystery Team. One has to wonder if this is some sort of rehab assignment gone bad for Mike’s probation or something…

Disney To Animate Guardians

Guardians of the GalaxyEven before the much anticipated film hits theaters, Disney has announced a new animated series to be based on “Guardians of the Galaxy“. Guardians of the Galaxy: The Animated Series- as well as a sequel to the theatrical film- were both announced San Diego’s Comic Con. Marvel Animation and Disney XD even went to far as to preview a one-minute teaser of the new animated series at the Comic-Con.

The Legend of Korra

Nick Pull Korra from Airwaves; Web Only

The Legend of KorraIn a surprise move for a popular, currently airing network series, Nickelodeon is pulling The Legend Of Korra from it’s regular network slot, and finishing out Book Three of the series on the Internet. The Terror Within, which aired Friday, will be the last of the series that will air on Nickelodeon. Beginning with The Stakeout, the series will be available on various Internet streaming sources including Amazon, Google Play, Xbox Video and Hulu as well as the Nickelodeon site and apps.
