If you thought it was about time Cartoon Network and [Adult Swim] should hit the airwaves north of the border, your wait is over. Teletoon and Turner have announced that they would be bringing the Cartoon Network to Canadians beginning July 4th.

To whet the appetites of viewers, Teletoon will begin broadcasting a weekly Cartoon Network programming block, starting this Saturday. The website CartoonNetwork.ca has already launched.

Before the final launch, Teletoon will air a two-hour preview block every Saturday in May and June featuring four Cartoon Network series. Adventure Time has already been airing on Teletoon will will kick of the new CN block on Saturday’s at 11:00 am. The Amazing World of Gumball will follow at 11:30am. At noon Canadians will see Regular Show followed by the Cartoon Cartoon classic, Dexter’s Laboratory at 12:30pm. The two hour premiere block will begin this weekend.

Cartoon Network Canada will also be featuring the [adult swim] programming block.

Meanwhile, Cartoon Network characters will come to life this summer at the Atlantis on the Paradise Island resort in The Bahamas. Infused with family-fun, the summer festivities will run May 25 – Sept. 3, 2012 promising even more Cartoon Network entertainment than last year. Guests can anticipate branded elements from the network’s top-rated and award-winning animated series Adventure Time including an Adventure Time themed poolside dive-in theater and a Cartoon Network, multi-brand character takeover of one of Atlantis’ most popular dining destinations, Seagrapes restaurant.
