Artist Jean-Maxime Perramon dies in highway crash

Jean-Maxime Per­ra­mon

Long­time Hol­ly­wood sto­ry­board artist and ani­ma­tor Jean-Maxime Per­ra­mon died Feb­ru­ary 26 of injuries suf­fered when he was struck by a car on the shoul­der of the Ven­tura Free­way (101 North) near West­lake Vil­lage, Cal­i­for­nia to check his Fer­rari, offi­cials of the Cal­i­for­nia High­way Patrol said. He was 63.

The Mal­ibu res­i­dent was a sto­ry­board artist for the 1987 Japanese-American series Bionic Six. He was also ani­ma­tion direc­tor for 2000’s The Tig­ger Movie and a visual designer for Jet­sons: The Movie (1990). As well, he was a con­cep­tual artist for the 1992 fea­ture film Fer­n­Gully: The Last Rainforest.

Per­ra­mon was an assis­tant char­ac­ter designer for the 1984 series Heath­cliff & the Catil­lac Cats, and a back­ground artist for the 1982 TV spe­cial Ziggy’s Gift.
