Longtime Hollywood storyboard artist and animator Jean-Maxime Perramon died February 26 of injuries suffered when he was struck by a car on the shoulder of the Ventura Freeway (101 North) near Westlake Village, California to check his Ferrari, officials of the California Highway Patrol said. He was 63.
The Malibu resident was a storyboard artist for the 1987 Japanese-American series Bionic Six. He was also animation director for 2000’s The Tigger Movie and a visual designer for Jetsons: The Movie (1990). As well, he was a conceptual artist for the 1992 feature film FernGully: The Last Rainforest.
Perramon was an assistant character designer for the 1984 series Heathcliff & the Catillac Cats, and a background artist for the 1982 TV special Ziggy’s Gift.
